Scientists analyzed the sleep patterns of 237 healthy adults and tracked changes in their blood samples before and after a sleepless night.
The findings revealed that the immune system is highly sensitive to sleep and quickly shifts even with minor sleep deprivation. If these shifts persist, they can increase the risk of inflammatory processes and diseases such as diabetes.
